I would just like to drop a link to a new, fledgling vampire community that is just starting to open its doors. This is a great opportunity for anyone who would like to be involved in growing a new community fromscratch to become involved and have a say in the way things develop.

Nocturnal Embrace

From their forums:

"We would like to become a community that is know for its tolerance towards newly awakened vampires, giving advice and offering support for those of us going through difficult periods or who are still searching for answers in the internal quest to work out just who and what we are. We would like to encourage discussions on various aspects of vampirism, from what it means to us in daily life, to techniques for finding a donor, and feeding etc.

We do not wish to become a 'business only' community whose entire focus revolves solely around vampirism and its practice, but a community that forges true bonds of friendship between its members, where said members are comfortable talking about a range of discussions on various events, topics and activities and can do so in a friendly, respectful manner.

We wish to become known as a safe haven for the newly awakened and veteran vampire alike, and to be seen as an informative, friendly community. We wish to introduce some level of formality to our ranks with regards to a code of conduct and a stepping ladder up which newly awakened vampires can climb in order to become part of a strong and worthwhile community. I know that some vampires in the online community would view such a take as wrong, or discouraging, but I feel that such a ladder would offer new vampires some motivation to develop their skills and their knowledge in order to fully harness their potential and to understand and question themselves and their nature instead of simply signing up to be part of a discussion group and then not bothering to try and develop or learn more. This may also, hopefully, discourage the role players who join such communities simply to cause havoc amongst the ranks or to make themselves feel important.

We are open to donors as well as vampires, and will not discriminate against people for their personal or religious views. However we would ask that topics such as religion be kept as personal matter for each individual vampire and not dragged into the forums to encourage fighting and flaming. People seem to go all defensive when it comes to issues like religion and we do not wish to encourage nasty behaviours within our boards.

We seek, as I have said, to create a small, friendly community for psi, sang and hybrid vampires where strong friendships can be forged, questions asked without fear or angry rebuttals, and useful advice be given."

If anyone would like to drop by and pay us a visit, we would be eternally grateful. Even more so if you stay and are able to help us grow.

Thank you all for taking the time to read this.

Valentine Dubois.
